Many brands have been using Facebook to engage customers and prospects very actively.
Manchester United probably one of the most popular football clubs in the world, has leveraged Facebook not only to listen to fans and get their inputs into the team but also to engage them.
I also like the way they have used FB to create awareness in markets like the United States, Argentina and Mexico. These markets have their local clubs which are also very popular, but using the players form these countries as ambassadors for the engagement was also a good idea.
At the end of the day United is always about the supporters. Its us against the world and FB strategy is an extension of the same..
