Another year goes by as we go through the motions of welcoming the New Year let me recount the three most dramatic moments of 2008
IPL the dream of 20-20 cricket came alive as Lalit Modi's baby kicked big time. The entire nation got involved. I personally had a running feud with so many of my friends as our loyalties split between the many teams. Bollywood got involved with SRK leading the show.
26/11 never in my wildest dreams did I imagine such a scenario. Thanks to the advent of the media the action and the horrors of the night came into our homes all across the nation and even here in the US. India would never be the same again because this time the war came to the rich and the affluent.
Nuclear Debate never in the history of modern India was a country so divided over an issue. To be or not to be was the question, but the answers and opinions not only divided the nation but almost brought a premature end to the ruling party at the center. At the end there was clever chanakyanomics from the ruling party which saved the day for them.
In the end we stand at the threshold of many new things I hope 2009 is a lot better than the previous year and with the economic meltdown I doubt if things would be any better.

ReplyDeleteyou are correct, we're all skeptical about the new year because of the economic meltdown, job cuts etc... but these are things beyond our control...
for me 'keep ur fingers crossed' is the only thing that gives hope :)... if we were to get more filmy... umeed pe hi duniya kaayam hai :)
