Whats In a Name?

What is in the name? I am Kiten Meena from Rajasthan.

My first day at IIT Madras, four of us facing bully seniors, it was ragging time, asked us to give introduction.
First student,” My name is Chidambaram Pillai Venkata Subramanyam Trichanapalli Surya Satya from Tamil Nadu”.

Second one said my name is Raja Raghvandera RamaKrishna Rao from Andhra;

Third student said my name is “Khodabhai Bhulabhai Hathibhai Jethalal Gajera from Gujarat”

And then it was my turn. I said I am from Rajasthan. My name is Kiten Meena.

Immediately the senior blurted out …..What kind of name is this? Kitten Meow?

I wonder what people think or do not think at all and keep name like Aangh vai, anj aali, pattu, Laddu, chelum, Jhalebi, Gulabo, Chameli and Rabri. I too fall in this category.

Let me tell you an incident, what names can do. In my current project with a Chinese firm, we had this Chinese Customer representative visiting us. He Who and How Wen created the confusions.

My boss came to me and said tomorrow “How is coming”.
I asked “Who is coming”
Boss said “Yes. He is also coming”.
I asked When Who is coming?
Boss said That is correct … How He will be here.
I asked Who is he?
Boss said He is Who and coming with How Wen.
I told Boss… please stop confusing me… How when who will come?

Then he explained me the Customer Rep named Mr. He who and Mr. How wen will be here tomorrow for inspection and so be ready….

Speaking about PATTHNI computers, Naan randa naal aa PATTNI Kedakrane !! Translated in Hindi … Main do din se bhooka hoon!! In English I didn’t have food for past two days…… and here’s a PATNI computers, well known name in software Industry.

When parents decide the future of the new born baby, the names become strange. Faruk’s parents wanted him to be an Engineer and he became Faruk Engineer. I am wondering what was going on in the minds of the parents when they named Bejan Daruwallah and his friends Johnny Battliwala, Ronny Screwalla.

My friend; her maiden name was Misty Cupp (Miss Tea Cup) to spell it, MISTY CUPP. She married her boss Chris Jar and she became Misty Jar (Miss Tea Jar). She got promoted from Tea cup to Tea Jar.

Think if Oprah Winfrey marries Deepak Chopra, what will she be called?
Opra …… Chopra.

After my marriage to Mukesh Mehra my name is changed to Kiten Mehra
But when Mukesh calls me Kiten Mera I feel extremely good …. then I question myself “What is in a Name? Kitten? ” everything is in the surname “Mera”.
