My Visa Piligrimage part I

The other day i had the fortune to go for my visa interview at the American consulate at Nungambakam and let me begin by telling you that i felt i had entered Tirupati, the hevenly abode of Lord Venkateswara in AP.

The long wait period, the steel cages, the over eager IT devotees and not to forget the not so friendly security. Special mention to the security who made me understand how the Brits ruled India for so many years, they actually were more American than those inside the consulate who were Americans themselves.

There were basically three categories of Visa applicants, the IT professionals with their access cards, Students wanting to go to US and old folks whose light of their lives were in US and they wanted to go to US see the statue of liberty shop at Wal-Mart and brag about it for the rest of the year. in between all this was I not really sure as to what i was doing there, but this is the third time in my life that an oppurtunity has come to go to 'the land of the free and Home of the brave'
